Baccalaureate Update

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have canceled baccalaureate for our amazing RHS Class of 2020. We had hoped to hold a live baccalaureate service at Barnabo and made plans to do so, but we finally came to the sad conclusion that coordinating this event of 800 people and meeting current state guidelines just isn't possible.  Thank you all for your patience and understanding, and hopefully we'll soon be coordinating baccalaureate for the Class of 2021.

Never heard of
a high school baccalaureate service before?
You're in good company!

Baccalaureate is just a big word for a Christian service that honors graduating high school seniors.  It is a way of getting the senior class together so they can receive prayer and a blessing before they graduate and go out into the world.

The Romeo Baccalaureate Committee works hard to make this service not only something to bless our seniors, but an exciting service they want to attend!  With the help of past seniors and the youth pastors/leaders on our committee, we organize the service with the 2020 senior in mind.  That means:

**A reception with baked goods, cake, punch…all the seniors (and their guests) can eat!
** A drawing where seniors can win gas cards or gifts/gift certificates from local businesses and restaurants.  Seniors will also have a chance to win one of the $250 Visa Gift Cards  donated by the Romeo Kiwanis and the baccalaureate committee.

'While we strive to make baccalaureate fun, exciting, and meaningful for our seniors, that’s not the main reason that the Romeo Baccalaureate Committee organizes a baccalaureate service.  The biggest reason is this—our seniors will face some overwhelming decisions and tough choices after they graduate.
We want to make sure they receive lots of prayer.  We want to make sure they are blessed.  We want to give them an opportunity to hear a message from a godly speaker that will help our graduates make good decisions in their future.

That's why we do it!

So, Class of 2020, we'll keep you posted!
